The Barclays European University Men’s Team Invitational Tournament
National Training Centre 16th-18th November  Click image for larger version From Friday the 18th of November to Sunday the 20th of November we held our very first event at the LTA National Training Centre in Roehampton, London. The teams involved were some of Europe’s very best. The number 1 seeds were Moscow with their number one player Dmitri Sitak leading their roster, London Metropolitan seeded 2 had Matjaz Jurmann from Slovenia as their top seed. Seeded 3 and 4 were Cologne and Stirling, Scotland. Results Full match results are available here. It was a fantastic weekend of tennis finishing on Sunday evening with a gripping final between Montpellier, who took out Moscow in the first round, and London Metropolitan. It was tied at 2 all going in to the doubles but the French prevailed and swept the doubles 2-0 giving them a 4-2 win against the reigning EUSA European champions. Many of the teams who competed at the ECTA event in Roehampton will also be participating in the EUSA Euopean championships in Moscow and we look forward to seeing them all again in December. Barclays Bank was the main sponsor of the event with TTK Sportswear, Tretorn Tennis Balls and Pro Kennex Racquets also supporting the tournament.
